The idea for The Romanian Music Industry Awards started with a simple question: Why Romania does not have a professional, recurring platform for recognizing achievement across the entire music industry?
The industry has changed. Romanian music has changed. New generations of artists, producers, and professionals have emerged, alongside new ways of consuming music, new opportunities, and an industry that is increasingly connected to what is happening beyond Romania’s borders.
But the need for recognition remains.
From the conversations around this need and the vision of Guido Janssens and the team, the idea emerged for a project that would go beyond a typical awards ceremony.
A project that would unite recorded music and the live sector, bring artists and the professionals behind them into the same conversation, build a professional community, and, over time, establish a meaningful benchmark for Romania’s music industry.
That is how The Romanian Music Industry Awards began.
Today, the idea is becoming a project. And the project is beginning to take shape through the people who choose to be part of it.
This is just the beginning.
