The Romanian music scene finally has the AWARDS IT DESERVES: THE ROMANIAN MUSIC INDUSTRY AWARDS is launching as the first major annual platform created to recognize, reward, and amplify excellence in live and recorded music!
The Romanian music industry is undergoing full development, with local artists generating a massive impact through streaming, social media, and spectacular festivals. THE ROMANIAN MUSIC INDUSTRY AWARDS aims to be a consistent, transparent initiative that supports the Romanian music industry over the medium and long term. “A sustainable structure that guarantees stability, credibility, and a real impact for the years to come. The project is built on strict principles of transparency and relevance and will rapidly transform into the new absolute benchmark for the industry and the general public,” state the organizers.
The project’s core mission is twofold: offering unquestionable professional recognition for artists, producers, and organizers, alongside the active involvement of the public. Fans are no longer mere spectators; they become direct decision-makers! Through a secure, fair, and highly intuitive online voting system, music lovers can support their favourites, turning the energy behind streaming platforms and social networks into top official awards.
To guarantee a rigorous selection, THE ROMANIAN MUSIC INDUSTRY AWARDS also introduces the ROMINAS Academy, a professional elite formed by top-tier experts. This powerful structure relies on heavy strategic partnerships with the Romanian Association of Concert and Cultural Event Organizers (AROC) and the Phonogram Producers Union of Romania (UPFR).
The range of awards is extremely diverse and covers the entire contemporary musical spectrum. The competition is divided into award categories for the national level, as well as for the international album and single of the year, the national solo artist or group of the year, alongside sections dedicated to festivals of all sizes, ranging from major events to the most effervescent club shows. Furthermore, in addition to the established titles, THE ROMANIAN MUSIC INDUSTRY AWARDS brings special, high-impact awards before the public, such as the “Lifetime Achievement Award”, “THE ROMANIAN MUSIC INDUSTRY AWARDS’s WOW Award” for the most sweeping ideas or campaigns of the previous year, the “Romanian Critics’ Choice Award”, and the “Best New Artist or Group” award—validated by critics and music editors and intended for artists with remarkable achievements in musical genres that benefit from limited commercial exposure.
To turn this vision into reality, the project calendar is already set to a fast-paced dynamic. In October 2026, the ROMANIAN MUSIC INDUSTRY AWARDS Academy will step into action to establish the first official nominations and special award winners, subsequently making way for the public online voting campaign, which will explode in November and December 2026. The grand culmination of the industry’s efforts will take place in February–March 2027, when THE ROMANIAN MUSIC INDUSTRY AWARDS gala will be hosted—the event that will announce the winners rewriting the history of Romanian music.
